Apple has announced the upcoming release of the $999 iPhone X, pronounced 'ten,' coming November 3rd.
The new phone ditches the home button and adds a slew of new, exclusive features, never before seen in an Apple phone.
The iPhone X features an edge-to-edge, 5.8 inch OLED high-resolution screen. Although this is .3 inches larger than Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus, it is inline with some higher-end offerings from Samsung.
In lieu of the home button, the iPhone X can be unlocked via an upwards swipe or facial recognition. Although this feature is available in some Android devices, Apple has added additional sensors that they claim will greatly improve performance and security.
The X’s added cameras and sensors will also allow for animojis, cartoon emojis that you control with your face in a mimicking fashion. Two hours of additional battery life over that of the iPhone 7 is also being promised.
CEO Tim Cook calls the phone the 'biggest advancement in history of iPhone.' So, will you be forking out a grand for one?
