Taylor Swift Donates Concert Tickets To Weymouth Police Officers

As Taylor Swift prepares for her 3-night run at Foxboro's Gillette Stadium, the 28-year-old pop star has donated several tickets for the upcoming show to the Weymouth Police Department, NBC 10 reports.

The generous display comes as the department mourns the loss of Sgt. Michael Chesna, killed in the line of duty on July 15.

Chesna, 42, was shot and killed while responding to the scene of an accident. Vera Adams, 77, was also fatally wounded by the shooter when the accused was pursued through a residential area in Weymouth.

In addition to Weymouth officers and their families, the police department has offered some of the tickets to other departments who chipped in to help after the loss of Sgt. Chesna and Vera Adams.

Swift kicks off her Gillette residency Thursday at 7:00 PM, with follow-up performances Friday and Saturday night.
