Following another positive COVID-19 test, the NFL is moving Monday night’s game between the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos to next Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The positive test on Sunday was the fourth for the Patriots in the past ten days. Cam Newton, Bill Murray and Stephon Gilmore were the three previous positive tests.
The NFL announced the cancellation of Monday’s game Sunday morning.
“The Denver Broncos at New England Patriots game scheduled for Monday, October 12 at 5:00 p.m. ET has been postponed. Details on a new game date and time will be announced shortly. Both teams will now have a Week 5 bye,” The NFL said in a statement via Twitter. “This decision was made to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel and in consultation with medical experts.”
