Who Will Replace Alex Trebek on "Jeopardy!"? Here Are The Sportsbook Odds

These days, there’s a bet to be made on pretty much anything, from Super Bowl prop bets to death pools based on "Game of Thrones." First, let’s get something straight: no one could ever truly replace Alex Trebek as the host of "Jeopardy!" However, someone will, inevitably, need to continue to carry the proverbial torch – and that means yet another thing for people to bet their hard-earned money on.

Washington Post entertainment writer Steven Zeitchik got the conversation started Wednesday when he posted this list of sportsbook odds on who the new "Jeopardy!" host will be. Longtime champion Ken Jennings is the frontrunner on Zeitchik’s list, with 1:1 odds. TV host and political commentator George Stephanopoulos (7:2) and scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson (14:1) rounded out the top three. It’s worth noting that Trebek has vouched for sportscaster Alex Faust and CNN legal analyst Laura Coates (both on the list with 18:1 odds) replacing him.

The list also included long shots like TV and podcast host Joe Rogan (can you imagine that?) with 66:1 odds, comedian Steve Harvey (40:1) and sportscaster Al Michaels (66:1).

Many of these picks could be great in the role, but make no mistake: there will only ever be one Alex Trebek.
