CW Announces “Legends Of The Hidden Temple” Reboot For Adults

Olmec is calling 90s kids back to the temple – would you heed the call?

The CW has announced that they’re rebooting “Legends of the Hidden Temple” for TV, but it won’t be for kids this time. The classic Nickelodeon competitive game show from the 90s will now feature adult competitors, in this new iteration.

The original series aired from 1993-1995 and was inspired by the adventures of Indiana Jones. The new reboot is said to be supersized and reimagined for grown-up competitors. You can bet that the temple guards will be even scarier this time!

According to the relaunch’s logline, series favorites Olmec, the giant talking stone head, “Moat Crossings,” “Steps of Knowledge” and “Temple Run” will all be returning. Team names will also be staying intact, including the “Purple Parrots,” “Blue Barracudas,” “Orange Iguanas,” “Red Jaguars,” “Silver Snakes” and, of course, the “Green Monkees.”

One thing that will change, however, will be the location. Instead of filming in-studio, the reboot will be taking place in a “mysterious jingle.”

Quibi first announced an adult-led reboot of the classic show in 2019. However, the streaming platform was shut down after six months and, as a result, that project never came to fruition. Quibi's 75+ produced shows have since been acquired by Roku.

Bigger prizes, bigger challenges and bigger competitors. So, will you answer the call, if Olmec summons you back to the temple?
