Barbecue – it’s the quintessential food of summer. But, if you’re a Bostonian, one food magazine claims that the odds are against you, when it comes to finding the best ‘Q.’
Chef’s Pencil analyzed TripAdvisor ratings data to create their annual list of America’s Best & Worst Cities for BBQ. The magazine ranked America’s 75 biggest cities by their average barbecue rating and, when the smoke cleared, Boston finished close to the bottom of the list.
The Bay State was found to have the third-worst barbecue overall, behind Anchorage, Alaska and Plano, Texas. “It’s not that you can’t find great BBQ in places like Anchorage, Plano, Boston or San Antonio, but you really need to choose well or you may not like what you get,” Chef’s Pencil said.
The average TripAdvisor rating for a barbecue restaurant in Boston was found to be 3.82 stars out of 5.
New Orleans, Oklahoma City and Wichita, Kansas were found to be America’s top three cities.
