Billie Eilish had a big weekend during the first set of shows for Coachella 2024, joining Lana Del Rey on stage during her headlining set and previewing a few songs from her upcoming album, Hit Me Hard And Soft, at a surprise party.
Eilish joined Del Rey as a guest on stage during her headlining set on Friday (April 12) night where the duo not only performed Lana's song "Video Games" but one of Eilish's own songs "Ocean Eyes" from her debut EP Don't Smile at Me. The "A&W" singer shared sweet praise for the "Bad Guy" hitmaker after their duet.
"That's the voice of our generation, the voice of your generation, and I'm so f---ing grateful she's standing next to me right now singing my favorite song," she said.
Eilish kept the good vibes going the next night with a surprise party with The Do LaB at Coachella on Saturday (April 13) where she previewed three songs from the soon-to-be-released album, per UPROXX.
One song seemed to draw the most attention online, with many fans expressing their excitement for the steamy track and at least one fan on X (formerly Twitter) calling it the "gay anthem of the year." In the song, Eilish sings, "I could eat that girl for lunch/ Yeah, she dances on my tongue/ Tastes like she might be the one/ And I can never get enough/ I could buy you so much stuff/ It's a craving, not a crush."
Surprise parties and events like this may be the only time fans get to hear Eilish's new music before her third studio album drops next month. When announcing Hit Me Hard And Soft, Eilish revealed that she wasn't going to release any singles ahead of time because she wants fans to experience the album in full.
Eilish is once again teaming up with her brother and collaborator FINNEAS on the highly-anticipated project. According to a press release, the album "hits you hard and soft both lyrically and sonically while blending genres and defying trends along the way."
In her announcement on social media, Eilish wrote, "finneas and i truly could not be more proud of this album and we absolutely can't wait for you to hear it. love you love you love you."
Hit Me Hard And Soft drops May 17.
