BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Hundreds of flights at Boston Logan Airport were cancelled Monday and some are blaming the weather.

As of 3:30 p.m., more than 250 flights were cancelled and more than 230 were delayed, according to FlightAware.

Ryan, who was flying home to Minneapolis, said his flight has been pending since Sunday.

“Our flight got cancelled for supposedly weather-related things,” he said. “Today we’re on standby and tomorrow were on standby, and we have a flight on Wednesday.”

Parts of the Midwest were slammed with a powerful blizzard over the weekend, with some parts of Minneapolis packed with nearly a foot of snow. All flights in and out of the city were cancelled.

The heavy storm system is expected to bring 1 to 2 inches of rain to the Greater Boston area Monday night with wind gusts up to 60 mph, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

A Flood Watch is in effect through Tuesday morning and a High Wind Warning in effect until 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
