BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Some travelers passing through Boston Logan Airport Friday were relieved to hear that Transportation Security Administration agents may be getting paid soon, and the possibility of saying goodbye to long lines.
The U.S. Senate voted Friday morning to partially fund the Department of Homeland Security, reinstating funds for TSA agents amid a 42-day partial government shutdown. The legislation will now move to the House for a vote. President Donald Trump also said he would sign an executive order to reinstate pay immediately for TSA agents.
For the most part, Logan has been spared from the long lines seen in other airports across the country. Trump had deployed ICE agents to assist the most heavily affected airports, like Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans.

Meanwhile, some travelers at Logan were more concerned for the TSA agents that have been working without a paycheck for weeks.
"I am happy to hear that it's about to come to an end, and they've worked hard, and it's well deserved," one traveler said. "They should get their paychecks as soon as possible."
"It's a bit of a struggle for us as travelers, but I'm sure it's worse of a struggle for them as people trying to feed their families, pay their bills, so I'm glad to hear that something's finally getting done," another traveler said.
