HUDSON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Hudson man is facing charges for allegedly beating his grandmother to death with a skateboard and injuring other family members inside their home on Tuesday.

Devin Dube, 29, was charged with murder and three counts of assault at his arraignment at Marlborough District Court on Wednesday, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said.

Police responded to a call on Tuesday afternoon from the suspect’s sister, who said her brother had attacked her with a skateboard.

Police arrived at the home on Munson Street and found Dube’s 90-year-old grandmother, Elaine Dube, in the basement with serious injuries. She was transported to a hospital where she later died.

Ryan said the suspect fled before the police arrived. Authorities located him not far from the scene of the crime and he was taken into custody without further incident.

Hudson Police Chief Richard P. DiPersio said the initial investigation found that this was an isolated incident inside the home and there is no other threat to the community.
