BOSTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Oscar-winners Matt Damon and Ben Affleck will reunite for The Last Duel, a medieval revenge story based on Eric Jager's "The Last Duel: A True Story of Trial by Combat in Medieval France."

"The script is almost done," Deadline reports. "This is happening quickly and would be the first collaboration on a script between Damon and Affleck to get made since their Oscar winning work on Good Will Hunting."

Both Damon, 48, and Affleck, 46, are set to star in the film which depicts a knight and a squire who face off in a duel spawned by supposed infidelity.

The film is penned by Damon, Affleck and Nicole Holofcener, the Oscar-nominated writer of Friends with Money.

Ridley Scott is on board to direct. Scott last worked with Damon on 2015's The Martian.

No release date has been set at this time.
