SOMERVILLE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Matty's Turkey Toss returned to Kiss 108 on Wednesday after a year off because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The annual event was held in Somerville’s Assembly Square Wednesday morning, and raised $2,600 for the Greater Boston Food Bank.

Twelve two-person high school teams competed. Returning-champion Everett High School won, defending their 2019 title.

Everett player Darrion Green made the winning catch. “I didn’t fumble. I got great hands, big hands. You know, I learned from the other people’s mistakes that have dropped it,” he said.
