PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Plymouth Police Officer and her husband were arrested on Thursday morning and charged with multiple counts of child rape.

Samantha Pelrine, 31, along with her husband, Daniel Forand, 37, were arrested by Massachusetts State Police after a man alleged the couple had sexually and physically abused him for years.

According to CBS News Boston, the alleged victim wrote in an abuse prevention order that the abuse began after the couple took him in when he was 12 years old in 2018. The couple allegedly abused him until 2025 and physically abused him until earlier this year.

Pelrine and Forand were arraigned in Plymouth District Court on Thursday afternoon. They both pleaded not guilty. Bail was set at $10,000 for Pelrine and $25,000 for Forand.

In court, Pelrine's attorney argued that the alleged victim had falsely accused someone of sexual assault in the past.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Plymouth Police Department said they are “appalled and deeply disturbed,” and Pelrine’s duty status is “currently under review.”
