Residents Worried About Leftover "Mud" From Pets As Snow Continues To Melt

HANOVER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Winter is finally nearing its close, and while all of the massive snow piles are melting, a few unpleasant items are resurfacing just in time for spring.

As residents see more grass, they say they are having a hard time deciphering mud from the leftovers left by the four-legged pets in the area. But what's even worse is when dog owners don't clean up, well, you know, especially during snowstorms, because when that snow melts, it doesn't necessarily mean those mounds have melted away.

Residents like Ryan say they have noticed it and want to remind all you dog owners to bring those "number two" bags along on your walks because this is one time of year when spring cleaning has a different connotation.

"I didn't know if people thought maybe the snow would melt it away," Ryan said.

Claire was walking with her Pomeranian, Lance, and said she had her bags ready to go, and other residents should be courteous and do the same.

"I think people should be more civil-minded," Claire said. "Take care of things, because it benefits all of us."
