BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) —The USDA issued a public health alert Wednesday over Trader Joe's frozen "Chicken, Lentil and Caramelized Onion Pilaf."

The dish "may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically rocks," the administration said.

According to the alert, the product has already been removed from store shelves.

Trader Joe's stores nationwide carried the pilaf between Nov. 1, 2023 and Jan. 19, 2024.

Several consumers complained to the USDA about the alleged contamination. One person reported suffering dental injuries after consuming the product, according to the alert.

The alert urged anyone who has already purchased the product to either throw it away or return it to the store they bought it from.
