HOPKINTON, Mass. —
Dressed in a ranger outfit and fake mustache, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski greeted visitors to Hopkinton State Park last week to film a commercial for Oberto Beef Jerky and trail mix.
According to the MetroWest Daily News, the commercial shows Gronkowski approaching cars as “Ranger Rob.” And many laughs follow.
“Welcome to the park. You may see some trees, water and squirrels and all that good stuff,” he said.
One fan seemed very smitten.
“You got to be kidding me right now?” one man said. “We are huge fans, honestly. No joke.”
Gronkowski offered Oberto Beef Jerky to some visitors.
Gronkowski stayed in character, for the most part. A group of girls swarmed him at the entrance.
In a canoe, Gronkowski spoke through a megaphone.
“I’m Ranger Rob, and I’m just doing ranger things,” he said.
